The OVPP Monitoring Program provides participants tools for documenting
the vast array of vernal pool flora and fauna. The "Monitoring Goals
and Instructions" form details the materials preferred and safety
precautions to take before monitoring. This document also provides a
section by section description of the monitoring form. The "Vernal Pool
Monitoring Form" details the animals and plants to identify when in a
vernal pool. Some fields are for the advanced documenter while others
can be completed by anyone. All fields do NOT have to be filled out to be submitted to the OVPP staff to input into the on-line vernal pool database. Currently, the database has monitoring activity from the following counties: Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Geauga, Lucas, Madison, Morrow, and Stark Counties. The database is in the process of being overhauled for better navigation. Click here to view the database.
